Upcycling Volunteer

Volunteer to help Sue Ryder to be there when it matters.

We are excited to announce that our Sue Ryder Eye shop (PE6) is opening an upcycling department! We are now seeking new volunteers who would like to join the Upcycling Volunteer team when we re-open at the start of May.

As an Upcycling Volunteer you will help us to upcycle items that were once destined for landfill, creating individual bespoke items for us to sell in the shop, supporting our “Green Agenda” and creating customer interest.

You will help us to restore and upcycle old/broken furniture and household items. You will get involved with duties such as repairs, painting, decoupage etc.
You will work with a friendly team to create upcycled products ranging from shabby chic cabinets and tables to chalk painted wardrobes. You must have a keen eye for detail, a creative streak, good common sense and will be able to follow safety guidance.

Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18. We regret that we cannot proceed with your application if you are not yet 18.

The Role – Upcycling Volunteer
• Use skills to refurbish, repair & upcycle donated items.
• Learn new skills to help repair furniture destined for landfill supporting our “Green Agenda”
• Maintain shop displays, assisting with set up and maintaining.
• Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented
