About the role:
If you love gardens as much as we do then you’ll know they need a lot of care. In this role you’ll be helping the garden team with everyday tasks to keep your local Sue Ryder hospice garden looking its best.
Activities will usually include:
Helping with projects like planting, clearing overgrown areas or developing sensory areas.
Garden maintenance including weeding, hedge cutting, raking and deadheading.
Sweeping paths and removing leaves.
How often we’d like your support
We hope you’ll volunteer 3 - 6 hours a week, but all our roles are flexible to suit you.
What we hope you’ll bring to the role:
You might not have experience of everything on this list. That’s fine; finding the right person is more important to us than ticking all the boxes. We hope you’ll:
Have a basic knowledge of plants
Have the patience and ability to work in varying weather conditions
Be reliable
Have a warm, friendly, adaptable approach
Be enthusiastic
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
